ACCOMMODATION IN HALLS 2024/25

Due to a reduction in available rooms for the 2024/25 academic year, there will be no accommodation available for continuing students, unless you meet the accommodation guarantee criteria listed below.

Accommodation guarantee for 2024/25

We’ll guarantee you an offer of accommodation if you are a continuing student on a full-time programme and meet one of the following criteria for 2024/25:

  • Care experienced student
  • Estranged student
  • If you are attending the Integrated Foundation Year or International Foundation Year and will be moving into Year 1 of an undergraduate programme in 2024/25.

You'll also be guaranteed an offer of accommodation as a continuing student if you are taking up one of the following roles:

  • Hall Life Assistant
  • Hall Life Duty Officer

Accommodation application deadlines will exist and these will be communicated to you as part of the application process for these roles.

Students with a Disability

A recommendation may be put forward if you are registered with the Disability & Neurodiversity team and if you meet one of the following criteria:

  • You are currently in a room which has been adapted to meet your disability needs.
  • You have been given a room with existing adaptations to meet your disability needs.
  • You are already registered for a social/communication impairment (autistic spectrum condition) and were living in halls during 2023/24 making you eligible for the university’s offer of accommodation for the duration of your studies.

You will be contacted by the Disability & Neurodiversity team if you meet one of the above criteria and will provided with information on how to express your interest in a recommendation.

Please note, a recommendation being put forward does not constitute a guarantee of accommodation and any offer of accommodation will be subject to availability.

Regulations and eligibility

Under the Student Conduct Regulations, your application for accommodation will be rejected if you have received a penalty for misconduct which prevents you from living in Halls for the remainder of your programme.

Under the Student Fees Regulations, your application may also be rejected if you have previously defaulted on an accommodation fee payment whilst living in Halls.

Please note that the progression recommendation given by your department at the end of the 2023/24 academic year, and any decisions to interrupt or change to part-time study from the start of the 2024/25 academic year may impact your eligibility to live in Halls. If this applies to you, you will be sent an email with further details once the results and progression recommendations have been released in July onwards.

If for any reason your progression recommendation has not been confirmed for 2024/25 by the start of the academic year, you will not be eligible to move into your room in Halls until your progression recommendation and eligibility to live in Halls has been confirmed.
