As you will be aware, after the UK formally left the EU on 31 January 2020, the UK and the EU have been in a transition period to allow for relevant legislation to be put in place for the UK’s exit. This transition period will formally end on 31 December 2020.
If you are an EU/EEA student, this will have an effect on your immigration status in the UK and what you will need to do to show you remain eligible to study here. If you are an EU/EEA student currently in the UK, and you have not already done so, you should apply for the EU Settlement Scheme - this is free to apply for and will grant you either pre-settled (five years of leave in the UK) or settled status (indefinite leave). Further information on this and how to apply can be found on the EU Hub on the student intranet.
In the lead up to the Christmas break and into term two, we will continue to provide you with information to help advise you of what you need to do and be aware of in relation to the UK’s exit from the EU, in both the student newsletter and on the EU Hub. Please continue to read and monitor the EU Hub on the student intranet for further information.
Please also download our International Student Support Guide, on the Welcome to Royal Holloway app, to stay up-to-date with information relating to the UK's exit from the EU.
