EDI Facilities on Campus

At Royal Holloway we strive to make our campus as accessible and inclusive as possible for all. Below are some of the facilities on campus that help us do this.

Gender Neutral Toilets

There are gender neutral toilets in many buildings across the campus, separate to accessible toilets. Signage to these facilities has now been added to the campus map

Addressing Period Poverty

The Students' Union has successfully lobbied Royal Holloway to address period poverty on campus. As a result, the University is runing a year-long trial of providing period products and bins in all toilets in the Emily Wilding Davison building, Shilling, and the Windsor building. After this year, the scheme will be rolled out to incude all buildings on campus, to ensure there is free and easy access to period products in every toilet on campus.

Baby Feeding Room

At Royal Holloway, we want to support families to feel confident about feeding their baby in public spaces. However, there is a room on the ground floor on the Shilling Building where people can go to feed their baby or express in private if they so wish. The room includes a baby changing station, children's toys and space for people to feed or express in comfort. Please follow signs to the room in the Shilling Building.

Wellbeing

Our Student Wellbeing Team supports all students with their general wellbeing. They're a friendly, approachable team who triage wellbeing queries and provide non-clinical advice and guidance to students. Their advisers will help co-ordinate the right support for you, or signpost/refer you to others within the department for longer term or more specialised support. You can also contact them if you are concerned about another student, so the right person can reach out to offer support and guidance.

To get in contact please email the team or join their daily virtual drop-in between 11am - 2pm during term time.
