Christmas opening and closing hours 2019/20
If you’re staying on campus or within the local area over the Christmas break, we've created a list of all the services that will still be open and the hours they will be operating.
Student Services Centre
The Student Services Centre is open 10.30am to 5.30pm during vacation periods.
The Centre will be closed from Friday 20 December until the College re-opens on 2 January 2020.
In addition, the Centre will be closed on Monday 6 January 2020 due to team training.
Royal Holloway Sport
Royal Holloway Sport will be operating the following out of term opening hours:
- Monday - Friday: 7am-9pm
- Saturday: 9am-6pm
- Sunday: 10am-6pm
They will be open on the following days; 27, 28, 29, 30 December from 9am-4pm.
They will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Library
The Library will be open until 9pm on Friday 20 December and will reopen at 9am on Thursday 2 January. Founder's Reading Room will remain open between 9am and 9pm throughout the vacation.
From Saturday 21 December to 1 January, whilst the Library within the Davison Building is closed, study space will be available in the George Eliot Centre (rooms 1-01, 1-02, and 1-03) from 9am-5pm, seven days a week.
Careers & Employability Service
The Careers & Employability Service will be closed from 3pm on Friday 20 December until Thursday 2 January 2020.
The Packhorse
Saturday 14 December to Sunday 22 December open normal term-time hours.
Monday 23 December: 11am-9pm (food will be served until 6pm)
Tuesday 24 December to Monday 30 December: Closed
Tuesday 31 December (New Year’s Eve) to Wednesday 1 January (New Year’s Day): 12-10pm (food until 6pm)
Thursday 2 January to Sunday 5 January: 11am-11pm (food will be served from 12-6pm on all days apart from Tuesday 4 January 12-8pm)
Monday 6 January onwards open normal term-time hours
Union Shop
Saturday 14 December - open from 8am-6pm
Sunday 15 December - closed due to stock take
Monday 16 December - Sunday 22 December - open from 8am-6pm daily
Monday 23 December - Wednesday 1 January - closed
Thursday 2 January - open from 8am-6pm
Friday 3 January - Friday 10 January - open from 8am-6pm daily
Saturday 11 January onwards - open normal term-time hours, 8am-11pm
Medicine, the Students’ Union and Tommy’s Kitchen
Closed from Saturday 14 December to Sunday 12 January
Food outlets across campus
Founder's Dining Hall, Imagine and 8Bar9 are all closed from Friday 13 December and will re-open on Monday 13 January 2020.
Crosslands
Open from 8.30am – 5pm from 16-19 December and from 2-10 January. Closed from 20 December – 1 January inclusive.
Café on the Square
Open 7am – 7pm daily until 20 December. Closed from 21 December - 1 January inclusive. Open 9am – 7pm on 2 January and 7am – 7pm from 3-12 January 2020.
Little Café on the Square
Closed from 21 December – 5 January inclusive.
The Boilerhouse Café
Open from 8.30am-4.30pm every week day from 16-20 December and from 2-10 January. Open 10am-1pm from 21 – 24 December and from 30-31 December.
The Hub
Open from 12.30 – 2pm and from 6-7pm from 14-20 December and from 6-12 January. Closed from 21 December – 5 January inclusive.
Kimiko
Closed from 23 December – 3 January inclusive.
SCR
Closed from 23 December – 10 January inclusive.
Kingswood Dining Hall
Open daily for brunch from 12-1pm and dinner from 6-7pm apart from 24 and 31 December when KW’s will be open for brunch only. Closed on 25, 26 December and 1 January.
Christmas bus timetable
Between Monday 16 December and Sunday 12 January the Monday to Friday service will be the weekend/vacation services (RH3), except on 25, 26, 28, 29 December 2019 and 1 January 2020 when there will be no bus service.
Monday 13 January 2020, the Monday to Friday service resumes.
Hall Life
There will be no Hall Life drop-in on Tuesday 10 December.
The Hall Life office will not be open all day on Friday 13 December.
From Friday 13 December to Monday 13 January, the office will be closed for the vacation.
