Our Royal Holloway Sport team have been working hard over the summer to make improvements to sport and fitness for all students and staff.

Their male and female changing rooms have been completely refurbished with all new toilets, showers, lockers, lighting and flooring. The additions of dry cubicle changing areas for extra privacy, and new vanity areas with hairdryers, have also been added to provide a better experience for Sports Centre users.

There have also been big changes and improvements to their group exercise programme. Some classes will be returning to the Sports Hall this term, and with the expansion of their class venues, they are now able to provide 39 group exercise classes a week, which is an increase of 12 classes per week compared to this time last year.

With group exercise returning to the Sports Hall, they have recognised the need to ensure they had the best music system to provide the quality of sound needed to create a motivating group exercise environment. After working with experts in the field of music and group exercise, they have implemented an eight speaker full hall sound system that will provide you with the extra motivation to help power you through your workout. Alongside this, they have also purchased a whole new range of group exercise equipment, from yoga mats and blocks to barbells and weights.

Their popular bootcamp sessions no longer require an additional cost as they are now integrated into the regular weekly timetable through two new classes - RH45 and RH HIIT. These classes will take place in both the Sports Hall and Jane Holloway Studio.

For two 2-hour sessions each week, exclusive access will be provided to women in the Jane Holloway Studio. These sessions will be self-led so you can carry your workout of choice in the privacy of the studio. There will be also be a female personal trainer or fitness instructor present at each session, should you require any assistance or guidance with your workouts.
