In the space of a few days, one of the blocks in the George Eliot complex has been used for a number of parties. You will be aware that this is in contravention of the national lockdown legislation and the College’s conduct rules. Recently, the legislation has introduced tougher financial sanctions for attending house parties, including in halls of residence, from £800 per incident to a maximum of £6,400. These fines will apply to those who attend illegal gatherings of more than 15 people from more than one household/support bubble. Facilitating or participating in such a gathering will be investigated as part of Major Misconduct Process and in conjunction with the police.

Please remember that we each have our part to play in keeping our community safe. If you have any concerns following these incidents, please contact supportingyouroyalholloway.ac.uk; or for immediate response outside of the working day, please contact campus security on 01784 443063.
