Last term, our Multifaith Chaplaincy team collected £2,021 for charity through donations made at their Lessons and Carols services. Thank you to everyone who was made a donation, especially at a time when cost of living difficulties are impacting us all.
This year the team has chosen to donate the majority of the money to the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development's (CAFOD) Israeli-Palestinian Crisis Appeal. CAFOD are working with local partners in Gaza to reach those who have been affected by this conflict. They are helping families who need urgent help and are providing essentials like emergency shelter, food, water, and psychosocial support. Through the generous contributions of the congregations over the three services a donation of £1,521 has been made to this appeal.
A donation of £500 has also been made to the Founder’s Choir to support their work as they sing at one of the services each year.
These services are a feature of the Multifaith Chaplaincy's annual calendar and the team would also like to say a massive thank you to all the students and staff who gave their time and talents to make the services such a special ocassion.
