Happy New Year! Whether you have just joined our community, or you are returning after the winter break, I hope you had a great time and are feeling rested.

Spring term starts tomorrow (8 January). If you’re looking to try something new this year, there's a wide range of activities on offer. Royal Holloway Sport offers a variety of free or low-cost sessions on our Egham campus, and details are included below. Many of the Student’s Union’s (SU) Give it a Go events are focused on meeting people in a fun, welcoming environment. I also encourage you to come along to the free Wellbeing on Weekdays events in the coming weeks.

If you would like to explore part-time job opportunities, the Part-time Jobs Fair on Wednesday 17 January is a great place to start.

We continue to experience the impact of the cost of living crisis. Whatever your student life looks like, we are here to support you. We have collated a wide range of advice and resources on the student intranet to help you navigate the challenges. The SU are also running a cost of living campaign to represent and support you further.

If you are worried about your wellbeing (or another student), please contact our Wellbeing team. They offer both online and in-person support. It's also worth knowing how you can access help in an emergency just in case you ever need it.

This term, we will be offering you a free breakfast boost to help you have a positive start to the day. This will be available in the Davison building, on our Egham campus from Monday – Friday between 8-10am

Enjoy your first week back!
