The Picture Gallery is open on Wednesday's during term-time from 10am-3pm, free entry to all. In the 1880's, Thomas Holloway scoured the auction houses and broke price records to buy his collection of modern British paintings. Today, this collection of Victorian masterpieces is world famous – and here for you to enjoy.
Most Wednesday's there is also a short talk at 1pm in the Picture Gallery. The Short Talks Programme is a series of five to ten minute insights introducing one painting in the Gallery, given by the Art Collections Volunteers.
