We are now in step one, the government term for the period to at least 1 June 2020, and all the information in this FAQ section relates to this time period only.
The government’s update on the UK’s Covid-19 recovery strategy and the updated information means that the majority of us should continue to stay at home, wherever possible.
If you have any concerns about your health you should continue to contact the free NHS 111 telephone helpline (or find specific advice on the NHS website if you are unable to get through). Please also check the PHE website for the latest official advice.
There will be no undergraduate or postgraduate teaching planned at the Egham campus or at Bedford Square.
We are continuing to run online assessments and are making sure that students are not academically disadvantaged as a result of the current situation.
More information on exams and assessments can be found here
Staff across the College are continuing to work from home, wherever possible. For study support click here, for information on exams and assessments and contact details for schools and departments click here. For wellbeing support please contact SupportingYou@royalholloway.ac.uk

The new government guidelines outlined in step one are relevant to students living in Halls of Residence. A household is defined as indivduals who are sharing a bathroom and or kitchen. The government's updated information means that the majority of us should continue to stay at home, wherever possible.
Although the government has relaxed rules on movement, students will not be permitted to return to rooms in Halls of Residence either to live or to collect possessions. We will consider arrangements for the collection of belongings, after 1 June.
The College’s buildings and grounds continue to be closed, apart from limited agreed access.
According to the government guidance in step one, you can spend time outside with one other person from outside your household as long as you observe the socil distancing rules are remain two metres apart. A household is defined as indivduals who are sharing a bathroom and or kitchen.
Although lockdown has eased, everyone should still be following these measures to control the virus:
- stay at home as much as possible
- work from home if you can
- limit contact with other people
- keep your distance if you go out (two metres apart where possible)
- wash your hands regularly
Do not leave home if you or anyone in your household has either of the two most common symptoms of coronavirus, fever and/or a new continuous cough. Find out more.
