Extortion Phishing Campaign


 

During the last month a new phishing campaign that aims to distress users in paying the requested ransom in Bitcoins.

The hacker uses one of the user’s old passwords that was compromised and made available in the dark web, in order to convince the user that the hacker has access to the user’s computer. 

In case you receive this email, do NOT pay the ransom, contact the IT Service desk and also change your password on any sites you have used the password that was shared by the hacker.
