Why did you decide to become a Student Ambassador?

I decided to become a Student Ambassador because I remembered what it was like looking for a university and having so many unknowns about my future. I thought that with the knowledge I have gained whilst being at university, accompanied by knowing the questions my parents had, I would be able communicate the reality of university to prospective students and their families. With a friendly and approachable team, flexible work hours and a useful mix of interpersonal and administration work, this job encompassed the things I desired, and along with the lovely people I’ve met whilst working here – it’s something I’m proud to be a part of.

What jobs have you enjoyed doing most?

Due to the pandemic the jobs that we have been able to undertake have been heavily influenced by the restrictions and maintenance of everyone’s safety. However, as one of the few universities conducting ‘in person’ open days, we were still able to give tours to families. I love this job as it’s a chance to share and relate to people who are going on the same journey as I did. Being able to show them an essence of what it’s like to go to Royal Holloway, that you can’t get from looking at the website, will always be an important part of the job. When I first arrived at Royal Holloway, I knew it was for me and talking to the ambassadors helped support my decision.

What are you future career plans?

In terms of a career, I am still undecided, however I know that I want to work with people. I am looking into careers in Forensic Psychology or Psychotherapy and I am applying for summer placement’s in these areas.
