Royal Holloway is a friendly and supportive community and we pride ourselves on our long tradition of ensuring that you, our students get the very best out of being at university. Now, more than ever, it is important that we continue to provide you with the very best wellbeing support. This is driven by the increasing prevalence of young people sharing concerns about their personal wellbeing, the current challenges and complexities of student life and our desire as a College, to inspire and support you to achieve to the best of your ability.

I am very pleased to introduce our new Student Wellbeing Strategy, developed in partnership with our Students’ Union. A huge amount of work and collaboration with our Students’ Union and in-depth consultation with students and staff has informed this strategy. You can find out more by watching the video below, where I introduce the strategy alongside Jack O’Neill, former SU President.

The coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has affected the way we all live, study and work and the uncertainty it brings can be difficult to deal with. We recognise that the current situation has introduced new challenges to student life. In order to make sure we continue to support you in the immediate challenges posed by the pandemic, we have also created a bridging strategy, so that we can continue to focus on the issues most relevant to you, our students.

Principal,
Professor Paul Layzell
