Nov 21 2022

Tomorrow (21 November) marks the start of this year’s #iWill week. Running until Friday (25 November), #iWill week is an annual celebration of the work young people from across the UK do to make a positive difference on the issues that affect lives, communities, and our society.

Volunteering is a hugely important aspect of student life at Royal Holloway, with over 1,000 of you taking part in volunteering each year, and last year over 4,000 hours of volunteering were recorded. It shows that the university community really does come together to help and support those in the local community and surrounding areas.

Getting involved with volunteering is a great way to demonstrate to future employers how you have developed your employability skills during your time at university, for example, communication, resilience and teamwork.

The Royal Holloway volunteering team will be hosting lots of events over the course of #iwill week and you can find out more by signing up to the volunteering mailing list here. Alternatively, our Volunteering Hub is located in the Davison Building - open 10am-4pm every weekday during term time. Please pop in to have a chat with the team and to hear about the different opportunities available to you.

I look forward to celebrating #iwill week with you all.

Senior Vice-Principal (Student and Staff Experience).
