It is the end of another year and time to reflect on the autumn term on campus as we look ahead to 2022. I’m delighted that campus has come back to life this term, and I believe you, our students, your academic success and your personal wellbeing are all the better for this.
In addition to in-person teaching, I’m pleased that events such as the COP26 Forum, Volunteering’s events and the Festive Market were enjoyed by so many of you and that the campus venues and Students’ Union clubs and societies are back up and running in-person too.
Next week, we are welcoming back to campus postgraduates from our 2020 and 2021 cohorts, for our first graduation ceremonies since winter 2019. Graduation ceremonies are special occasions; a collective celebration of our students and their achievements. We are thankful that they were planned with Covid-19 in mind, and the controls we had already put in place exceed the latest requirements under the
UK Government’s Plan B announcement.
Campus never closes and, over the holiday period, services to support students who remain on campus will remain open; including the option to enjoy a festive Christmas lunch in Founder’s Dining Hall.
I hope you all enjoy your winter break, whether you remain on or around campus, or travel to spend time with family and friends. However you spend the holidays, please keep an eye on @RHcampuslife for any news before the next edition of my newsletter on Sunday 9 January.
