Dec 09 2018
2018 has been an amazing year for our university. We welcomed a record number of students during Welcome Week, a hundred of you have joined our RH100 student panel and many of you will graduate next week.

In September, The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 ranked Royal Holloway 24th in its national rankings, a rise of four places, and fourth in its London table. This success was also mirrored across other key league tables this year, including The Guardian and the Complete University Guide. These league table rises are in large part the result of developments we’ve made in areas such as teaching, feedback, timetabling, resources and the campus environment; developments which came about through listening and responding to what you, our students value.

2018 also saw many student successes. In March, a team of students were awarded a prestigious prize in a national cybersecurity challenge and the Students' Union's new Academic Representative system saw over 350 of you elected, ensuring that your student voice is heard in every academic department.

I look forward to welcoming many of you back to campus in 2019 and my best wishes to those of you who are graduating; remember to stay connected to Royal Holloway through our Alumni team.

Wishing you all season's greetings and best wishes for the new year.
