The clocks went back this morning and as the nights get longer, it’s important to remember to stay safe around campus and in the local community. Whether you’re returning home after an evening studying, an exercise class at Jane Holloway Hall, or SU night out, please remember to follow well-lit and well used areas when it's dark and keep the noise to a minimum to avoid disturbing other students or local residents.
Looking back to last week, on Wednesday and Thursday (23-24 October), over 1,400 of you attended the Careers and Placements Fair. Over 30 employers took part, including KPMG, Cancer Research UK and Teach First. For many of you, this would have been your first step in exploring career options post graduation. You may also have used the event to research or seek to secure a placement. Whatever stage you are at in terms of current or future employment, I hope you found the Careers and Placements Fair to be a positive and productive day, and I would encourage you to follow-up with employers and research the job roles and companies that interest you. Look out for careers events, workshops and one-to-one support to help you to do this. You can also drop in to the Careers and Employability team in the Davison Building for information and advice.
