Usually, at this time of year, I would be reflecting on the past term, wishing you well for any travelling you might do over the coming break and encouraging you to prepare for exams and assessments in the summer term.

However, we are experiencing events that are unprecedented in our lifetime, and which are causing confusion and anxiety for people in every nation across the globe.

In the coming months, it is important that we keep in touch with one another. My weekly newsletter usually stops over the holidays but this year you will continue to receive our weekly coronavirus newsletter which will summarise important information that you will need for your studies. Where necessary, we will also email you, so please continue to check your email regularly over the holidays. If you don’t already, you might want to join us on Instagram and Twitter, @RHCampusLife.

There are many changes we are having to make to the way we work and deliver your teaching, assessments and support, responding to a situation that is also changing rapidly. We want to make sure we get things right for you, so I would ask for your patience as we work through the issues.

At this time, more than ever, we need to draw on the strengths of our Royal Holloway community and in our collective strength. We will be here to support you, and I hope that each of you will show support to one another.
