Thursday (3 March), marks University Mental Health Day – a national campaign that brings together the university community to make mental health a university-wide priority and create ongoing, year round change to the future of student mental health.

In support of this year’s University Mental Health Day, on Thursday our Wellbeing team will be in the Davison Building foyer, between 11am and 3pm, delivering a range of different events and activities to encourage everyone to take some time for their mental health and wellbeing. Events include; bite size sessions with the team around anxiety and mindfulness, self-guided Wellbeing Walks around campus and a guided visualisation, led by our Mental Health Practitioner, Jane. There will also be the opportunity to meet our different Wellbeing teams – our International Advisers, Money and Funding Advisers, Wellbeing (and Harassment) Advisers, Counsellors, Mental Health Practitioners, Disability Advisers and our Chaplains. More information about the events taking place throughout the day can be found on the student intranet.

Campaigns like University Mental Health Day highlight how important it is that we look after our mental health and wellbeing. If you do experience personal or academic challenges that are affecting your health and wellbeing, I really encourage you to seek help and advice. Royal Holloway is a close knit and supportive community and we offer a wide range of services to help you if you begin to feel overwhelmed. If you would like to talk to someone or are concerned about anyone within our community, please contact our Wellbeing: Support & Guidance team

Please take this opportunity to reflect on your mental health and wellbeing, take a look at the resources available to you and reach out for support if you need to.
