Welcome back to the summer term – I hope you all had a restful and productive Easter break. Last Wednesday, 21 April, all students were sent an update on term three, that provided a range of information, including the support on offer and activities for you to get involved in whether you’re on campus or studying at home. More information about term three can be found on the student intranet.

As we move through the Government’s roadmap and out of national lockdown, it’s more important than ever to ensure that we continue to follow the rules and guidelines currently in place. For those of you who are on campus, living in accommodation, or living locally and using campus facilities, it is important you take part in twice-weekly lateral flow testing to enable us all to play our part in helping to control the spread of Covid-19.

As a thank you for taking part in testing, you can earn rewards for you and your favourite club, society or student volunteering programme. Everyone who takes part in lateral flow testing on campus can earn rewards such as discounts on food and drink in any of our food outlets as well as supporting good causes, such as the Students’ Union Student Groups Access Fund and student-led volunteering projects. Find out more about our thanks for testing rewards programme and the good causes that you can support, in the newsletter below.

Many of you will have exams or assessments coming up in term three and I appreciate that this is can be a worrying and anxious time. Academic and support colleagues are here to assist you, we all want you to succeed in your assessments and progress to your next stage, please do make use of the support and resources available to you, outlined below. It’s also important to remember that when you are revising, writing your assessments and taking your exams you follow our College guidelines and regulations to avoid any consequences as a result of these regulations not being followed.

Looking after your mental health and wellbeing during this time is extremely important. If you are particularly concerned about your wellbeing, or another student’s wellbeing, please contact our Student Advisory and Wellbeing team. You can also get involved in a range of workshops run by the team throughout term three.
