Last week, the Students’ Union held their annual elections. Over 3,000 students took part, which is a record turnout. Thank you to everyone who joined a process which represents democracy in action.

I would like to pass on my congratulations to your new Students' Union President, Jack O’Neill, who is currently Vice President Education.

Well done also to Kate Roberts, who was elected as Vice President Education, Lucy Simpson elected as Vice President Welfare and Diversity, Sophia Bolton, elected Vice President Societies and Media, and to Dominic Brown – who was re-elected Vice President Sport. Congratulations are also due to candidates elected into roles as Student Trustees, College Council Representative, NUS Delegates and into Students’ Union media roles. All candidates should be congratulated on their efforts in what was a very close election.

The Students' Union is an important part of our College community and I look forward to working with the new Sabbatical Officers when they take up their posts in the summer as they work to represent students' interests.
