This week, we caught up with Dr Vicky Greenaway to get her advice for settling (back) into university life. Vicky also shares her easy hot dog pasta recipe.
Vicky is Vice-Dean Education and Student Experience for the School of Humanities and runs the Royal holloway Big Read.
Why did you choose this recipe to share?
This is my kids' favourite dinner, and secretly one of mine also. Another fan is Sheldon form The Big Bang Theory - it's his favourite home-cooked dish! This is a filling tasty meal made from storecupboard and freezer staples. Stock up and know you've aways got a healthy meal on-hand.
What's your advice for new students?
I was an Army child and I moved home and school about every two to three years until I was sixteen. One thing I learned from all that change was that wherever you go, you always take yourself with you. Know yourself, take time to think about what your need and what works to keep you happy and rested and put in place the structures and things you need to support yourself.
So: amidst all the exciting new oppertunities and potential make sure that you do you!
