From 12-3pm on Tuesday 14 May, join us in Founder's Square on our Egham Campus in celebrating our diverse community at the Festival of Languages and Cultures! Try out different foods and activities, brush up on some language skills, and listen to performances from cultures across the globe.

Hong Kong Society

Bao Buns (beef, chicken and mushroom). Activities to celebrate the Cantonese language and Hong Kong culture

Sikh Society

Traditional Panjabi food and drinks along with interactive board and card games

Eastern European Society

Polish and eastern European snacks as well as stickers and pronunciation cards for common words and phrases.

Hindu Society

Teaching Sanskrit phrases/characters and providing cultural food

Indian Society

 

Guess the language competition to highlight the many languages spoken in India (prizes available). Traditional food from several states of India

Nepalese Society

 

Traditional dress. Fun facts and figures about Nepal and also a look at the close historical ties between Nepal and the UK throughout history.

Japanese Society

 

Traditional snacks and activities based around Japanese culture, including Wii Sports, Mario Kart and Origami,
