The Centre for the Development of Academic Skills (CeDAS) aims to enable all taught students at Royal Holloway to achieve their full academic potential.
CeDAS: Academic Skills
Our team of dedicated Learning Developers provide free, friendly, and confidential support for all taught students.
We offer 1:1 tutorials, drop-ins and workshops. These activities, delivered both online and in-person, address key aspects of academic writing and communication, maths, stats, numeracy, and studying independently.
We also offer a range of self-study resources including advice on preparing for and taking exams.

CeDAS: Maths Cafe
Visit the pre-exam Maths & Stats drop-ins in May 2025. No booking required.
Come to our annual Maths Café and bring your Maths and/or statistics questions about past exam papers, lecture notes, homework or project and dissertation work.
Dates: 1- 16 May (excl. weekends & Bank Holiday 5 May)
Times: 11am-2pm
Locations: Bedford-0-05 (1- 2 May) / the EWD Event Space in the Davison Building (6 -16 May) on our Egham campus.
These drop-in sessions are delivered by CeDAS staff and lecturers volunteering their time. Please see the schedule on the moodle site for lecturer availability.

CeDAS: Supporting you as you begin your studies at Royal Holloway
CeDAS has worked with Royal Holloway students to produce a Moodle self-study course full of their advice and perspectives on how you too can become a successful university student. Click on this link Your university journey STARTS HERE to take a look at what it contains.
Using the module is optional and you can access it as much or as often as is useful for you.
CeDAS: Study Abroad
Royal Holloway welcomes international students who would like to learn with us. We also help current students take up opportunities to study abroad. Find out more.
CeDAS: Proofreading Scheme
This fee-for-service scheme is for postgraduate students who want to have the final draft of a dissertation or project proofed before submission. Work is carried out by private arrangement through CeDAS with professional proofreaders listed on the scheme’s register. Find out more.
