Happy New Year, I hope you had a great festive break.

For many of us, January can be a challenging month, with dark days, cold weather and a post-break slump. However, across campus there are resources and support available, which you can access to help you to stay on track. For example, CeDAS provide study support including; useful workshops, courses, one-to-one support and self-study resources to support your academic performance. Student Wellbeing provide a wide range of advice and support services and, as well as providing individual support, they can refer you to other services which might be helpful. The re-opening of the Reading Room in Founder’s and some reorganisation of space in the Library also means that more study spaces are available to you across campus.

Last term I announced that we will introduce six Schools to replace the current three Faculties. Departments will remain and the new School structure will be operational from the start of the next academic year. However, we need to do preparatory work between now and then, and so last term I also appointed new Heads of School-designate. Through this term I’ll share more details on how the new Schools structure will work, and how it might affect you. As well as providing information in this newsletter, updates will also be available on the student intranet.
