If you’re staying on campus or within the local area over the Easter break, we have created a list of all the services that will still be open and the hours they will be operating.

 

Wellbeing 

Support is available if you need it, our Wellbeing team will remain available over the break however they will be operating a slightly reduced service. You can contact them by emailing wellbeing@royalholloway.ac.uk.  

  • Online and in-person drop-ins will pause on Friday 29 March and will re-commence on Monday 29 April.  

Between Friday 29 March to Wednesday 3 April while many of our University services will close for Easter, you can still access help from our external support networks. Learn more

Togetherall is also available 24/7, every day. We encourage you to register today to check it out. On the platform, you can take courses, read articles on wellbeing topics or give and get support from fellow students. The community is supported by clinical experts who keep everyone safe and who you can reach out to for support should you need it. To register for Togetherall, click here

All services will close for the Easter weekend. Please note from 5pm on Thursday 28 March -  9am Thursday 4 April team mailboxes will not be checked.

 

 Student's Union

Opening hours for SU services can be found on the RHSU website.

 

Royal Holloway Sport

  • The Sports Centre and Fitness Suite will be open as usual for most of the Easter break. 
  • It will be closed on Friday 29 March, Sunday 31 March and Monday 1 April.  

 If you have a Gold membership with Royal Holloway Sport, you can access the BUCS UNIveral gym scheme and gain access to over 70 university gyms across the UK, subject to their opening hours, free of charge. Learn more.

Catering

During the bank holiday weekend Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April, the following catering outlets will be open daily:

  • The Spice Van, Founder’s Square from 10am – 2pm
  • Café on the Square, Davison Building from 9am-4pm

Café on the Square

  • Open 9am-4pm from Friday 29 March – Wednesday 3 April.
  • From Thursday 4 April, open 8am-5pm Monday – Friday and 9am-4pm at weekends.

The Spice Van

    • Open from 10am-2pm from Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April.
    • Closed Tuesday 2 April – Friday 26 April.

The Hub

  • Open daily from 12-1.30pm and 5-6.30pm from Tuesday 2 April - Wednesday 3 April and from Friday 5 April - Friday 26 April.
  • Closed from Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April 
  • The Hub will be closed for a deep clean on Thursday 4 April. Founder’s Dining Hall will be open instead from 12-1.30pm and from 5-6.30pm.

Boilerhouse Café

  • Open 8am – 5pm every weekday from Monday 8 April
  • Closed from 29 March – 5 April.

Kimiko Japanese Kitchen

  • Closed from Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April.
  • Open 10am - 6pm on Tuesday 2 April and Wednesday 3 April
  • Open 10am-8pm Monday – Friday from Thursday 4 April - Friday 26 April.

Imagine

  • Open every weekday from 12-5pm except on Monday 1 April.

 

Library 

  • The Library in the Davison Building will remain open throughout the Easter Vacation, with only a small change to opening hours on the following dates Friday 29 MarchWednesday 3 April, when we will open from 8am-12am daily. 
  • LiveChat services will be available as normal during this time. 
  • Information Consultants services will be limited from Friday 29 March - Wednesday 3 April
  • 24/7 opening hours will resume on Thursday 4 April until the end of the summer term. You can always check the opening times on the Library intranet page.  
  • Founder's Reading Room will remain open 24/7 with swipe access.  
  • You can still search our physical collection of materials and access digital materials online, on any device through LibrarySearch. In addition to this the Library has a number of major databases, which you can access via the Databases A-Z page
  • You can easily contact the Library, including through our LiveChat. You can get help searching, referencing and evaluating resources from our friendly Information Consultants

IT 

Our IT team are here to answer your technical queries. You can call, use their live chat or email them at  ITservicedesk@royalholloway.ac.uk. Find out their opening times, or use their LiveChat service to speak to someone online here

  • Services will be closed between Friday 29 March  - Tuesday 2 April 
  • There will be no weekend support between Saturday 23 March – Sunday 5 May
  • Apart from the above closures, the IT Service Desk and Laptop Support will be open as normal, Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm

 

Careers 

  • Careers will be closed from Friday 28 March - Wednesday 3 April and will be offering online-only appointments from Thursday 4 April - Friday 26 April. The Careers Hub will re-open on Monday 29 April for in-person appointments and drop-ins. 

 

Volunteering Hub 

  • The Volunteering Hub is closed outside of term time, however the Volunteering team can support you with enquiries via email . The team will then return in person on Monday 29 April
  • Throughout the Easter break you can find local volunteering opportunities on their online platform.  

 

Student Services Centre 

  • The Student Services Centre will be closed on Friday 29 March - Wednesday 3 April.

George Eliot Post Room

Hall Life  

  • The Hall Life team is a term time only service. They will close on Thursday 28 March and reopen on Monday 29 April. For practical help and advice, please check out the Living in Hall Guide.

 

Help in an emergency and Security 

If you are on campus, Security operates and is contactable 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The team is based in Founder's East, opposite the Visitor's Center.
